What this building is — and is not
It is not a hospital, nor a medical centre that employs doctors. It is a neighbourhood building for care, with a pharmacy on the ground floor and independent practices above.
In 2000 the family pharmacy moved to 7 Kyklaminon Street, into a building designed for pharmaceutical care, opposite the church of Agios Ierotheos. Public listings already call it the “Sikalias Healthcare Building”. That name is a description, not a slogan.
The ground floor is Sikalias Pharmacy — a continuation of the pharmacy Christos St. Sikalias founded in 1967 at Degleri Square. The floors above house independent practices and a diagnostic laboratory. Each professional keeps their own responsibility, appointments and records.
The idea is simple: a person from the neighbourhood should not have to become “a case in a complex” to find a pharmacist, a GP, a cardiologist, an endocrinologist, a paediatrician, an orthopaedic surgeon, an ophthalmologist, a psychiatrist, a dietitian or a laboratory. They need a reference point that does not pretend to be a hospital.
sikalias.org does not sell products and does not book medical appointments. It shows the building, explains its logic, gathers what is already public, and keeps a practice library open. The commercial sites are elsewhere: the pharmacy at sikalias.gr, the laboratories at sikalias.com, the scientific site at sikalias.net.
If something joins the rooms, it is not a shared company. It is the neighbourhood, the building, and the belief that care starts in the ordinary — before the emergency.
