A family activity · for a grown-up and a child aged 4–7 · 8 minutes
The colourful friends
Observe two different foods and draw them together.
You will need
Paper and coloured pencils. Food photographs are optional. No real food or tasting is needed.
Let’s explore
- Choose an orange and a pepper from pictures, or draw them.
- Describe their colours, shapes and surfaces without guessing what they contain.
- Draw them in the same paper basket.
- Turn off the screen. A grown-up writes one of the child’s questions beside the basket. Discuss which reliable source could help.
What can we observe, and what do we need to learn from a reliable source?
